Making an Art Journal with Monet Washi Tape

 Oscar-Claude Monet (14 November 1840–5 December 1926) was a French painter and the founder of Impressionism, and he is seen as a key precursor to modernism, especially in his attempts to paint nature as he perceived it. Over his long career, he was the most consistent and prolific practitioner of the Impressionist idea of expressing one's perceptions of nature, particularly in plein air (outdoor) landscape painting. Step 1. Choose the sections of Monet's landscapes that you like, cut them out, and stagger the placement of washi tape on the page until the page is fully covered. Since the tape is based on Monet's nature paintings, the colors are already harmonious, so almost any combination works.

Step 2. Break up the flat surface. Laying out the tape is a nice way to show off the patterns, but if the whole page is just flat strips, it starts to look like a sample book of tape designs.
