What Is Washi Tape?

Washi is traditional Japanese paper made by hand using fibers from the inner bark of the gampi tree, the mitsumata shrub, or the paper mulberry bush, according to Wikipedia.
It is said that washi tape was originally created when several Japanese female craft lovers used industrial washi tape for creative projects. They later suggested to Kamoi Kakoshi, a manufacturer of masking tape at the time, to produce decorative washi tape. The MT washi tape came into being because of that.
Washi tape is suitable for journaling, including diaries, travel journals, planners, and bullet journals. It can also be used for collage, scrapbooking, junk journals, handmade crafts, and transforming old objects.
